Established in 1965, Hammam Semlalia is a cherished landmark in Gueliz, dedicated to preserving the authentic traditions of Moroccan bathing. For generations, we have offered a truly immersive hammam experience, passed down through families and carefully maintained.
The Hammam Ritual
The Moroccan hammam is a traditional ritual performed in a steam bath, where the skin is softened by heat and moisture. A black soap made from olive oil and eucalyptus is applied, followed by vigorous scrubbing with a kessa glove to remove dead skin. The process deeply cleanses, smooths, and rejuvenates the skin, ending with a rinse, a traditional soaping massage and hair shampooing.
